    The ratio of Ni, Co and Mn in the ternary cathode material can be adjusted in a certain range, and its performance will change with the different ratio of Ni, Co and Mn. The ternary cathode material can be expressed as linixcoymnzo2, where x + y + Z = 1. According to the different molar ratio (x ∶ y ∶ Z ratio) of the three elements, they are called different systems. The system with the molar ratio of 5 ∶ 2 ∶ 3 is called 523 system.
    523 type ternary material is the largest amount of ternary material at present, because it has high specific capacity and thermal stability, and the maturity and stability of the process are constantly improving, and its market share is rapidly expanding. 523 ternary material pursues high volume, high specific capacity (high compaction density), followed by the balance between cycle performance, rate performance, thermal stability and self discharge.
