      SBR is a water-based adhesive for styrene butadiene rubber, which is easily soluble in water and polar solvent. It has high bonding strength, good mechanical stability and operability. It is used as a binder in battery industry with good bonding effect and stable quality.
       Synthesis of SBR：SBR is synthesized by 1,3- butadiene (CH2=CH-CH=CH2) and styrene (C6H5-CH=CH2). There are two ways of emulsion polymerization and solution polymerization.
       The bonding mechanism of SBR：the groups on the surface of SBR react with those on the surface of copper foil to form chemical bonds. SBR emulsion itself is a product of hydrophilic and hydrophobic equilibrium. On the one hand, it combines organically with graphite through hydrophobicity. On the other hand, it condenss through hydrophilic groups and surface groups of copper foil.
       SBR and CMC are complementary and indispensable in the preparation of graphite anode paste for lithium battery, which is the result of long-term practice in industry. In addition, it is difficult to use CMC as binder in the process of rolling off, because it is difficult to use CMC as binder in the process of rolling off At the same time, too much SBR will make the electrode sheet swell in the electrolyte, and the slurry will settle. Another function of CMC is to act as dispersant, dispersing graphite and conductive additive, so the above mentioned problems can be basically solved by using CMC and SBR at the same time
