For lithium-ion batteries, aluminum foil is usually used as positive collector, while copper foil is used as negative collector. Firstly, copper aluminum foil has good conductivity, soft texture and low price. Secondly, copper aluminum foil is relatively stable in the air. Thirdly, the positive and negative potential of lithium-ion battery determines aluminum foil for positive electrode and copper foil for negative electrode, not vice versa.
The collector not only plays the role of carrying the active material, but also collects the electrons generated by the electrochemical reaction and leads them to the external circuit, so as to form a larger current output, so as to realize the process of chemical energy into electrical energy. In order to ensure the stability of the collector in the battery, the purity of both is required to be more than 98%.
Aluminum foil is mainly calendered aluminum foil. Aluminum foil for positive electrode has been reduced from 16um in previous years to 14um, and then to 12um. Now many battery manufacturers have mass produced 10um aluminum foil, even 8um aluminum foil.Product index parameters
